Elan A. Ginzberg is an attorney with a diverse background in employment law, criminal law, and commercial litigation. Elan has litigated a myriad of cases involving: complex business disputes; individuals charged with misdemeanors and felonies; and claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
Elan represents both individuals and companies, which gives him a unique edge and the ability to provide his clients with guidance on cutting-edge strategies and novel theories of liability in the areas of employment and business law. Over the course of his career, Elan has negotiated numerous separation agreements and has handled a multitude of mediations resulting in successful resolutions of his clients’ claims.
Elan is also on the board of directors for the 13th Floor Animal Rescue, Inc., a non-profit (501c3) no-kill animal rescue organization, whose mission is to find forever homes for cats, dogs and exotic animals who have been deserted and neglected.
Elan received his Juris Doctor from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where he served as the Academic Chair of Hofstra’s Black Law Student Association (BLSA), and also represented indigent clients in all stages of their criminal defense – from arraignment through sentencing – in the school’s Criminal Defense clinic.
Prior to Law School, Elan graduated from Pace University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, a minor in Psychology, and was also admitted into Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal Justice Honor Society.
Elan is admitted to the Bars of the State of New York, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. When not practicing law, Elan enjoys riding his motorcycles, rescuing and rehabilitating domestic and exotic animals, and supporting all professional New York Sports teams, except for the Knicks.
